GRADY SIZEMORE SEEKS TURNAROUND IN '10 

Great new article from Jerry Crasnick at ESPN.

Grady Sizemore and Mike Redmond have two elements in place that should make for a productive conversation. They're both Seattle natives, and they're represented by the same agent, Joe Urbon of Creative Artists Associates.

But those snippets of common ground didn't lead to much verbal repartee when Redmond was catching for Minnesota and Sizemore stepped in the batter's box for Cleveland. Motorists and tollbooth attendants have been known to engage in lengthier dialogues.

"He'd come to the plate and it was, 'Hi,' and that's it,'' said Redmond, who signed with Cleveland as a free agent in January. "When you play against somebody for five or six years, 19 times a year, you should get a little bit more than, 'Hi.' But that's Grady, and that's fine. I think I got as much out of [Shin-Soo] Choo.''

BASEBALL TONIGHT INTERVIEW ~ ESPN - (2/28/10) 

ESPN's Baseball Tonight visited Goodyear this weekend and today they featured a short interview with Grady. This came as a surprise, but luckily, SF.com's Mandy happened to be waching ESPN at a good time and was able to record it on DVR. She was nice enough to record it on her camera, so we are able to provide the video for all of our visitors tonight.

SIZEMORE MOVES DOWN IN LINEUP (2/26/10) 

STO/Indians broadcaster Matt Underwood reports in his blog that new Tribe manager Manny Acta has informed Grady that he will be batting 2nd in the 2010 Indians lineup behind shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera. This move should come as a welcome change to most of the many, many Tribe fans who have been calling for him to move down in the order for many years.

Grady held a press conference earlier today at Progressive Field. In which he addressed several topics, among which were his recovery from season-ending surgeries, the upcoming Indians season, and the December internet photo scandal. For the second year in a row we here at SizemoreFan.com are proud to present a 2010 Grady calendar for our visitors to enjoy.

To print the calendar follow these steps: 1.) Right-Click/Save-As on the thumbnail to the left. Once saved, open the PDF in Acrobat Reader. 2.) Print doublesided (short-edge binding, pg 2 on the back of pg 1, pg 4 on the back of pg 3, etc.) on 11x17 paper. 3.) Fold each page so it matches up with the previously printed pages. The centerfold should be the poster. 4.) If you are able, staple the middle so the calendar pages stay together. 5.) If you have trouble printing, don't have the ink or paper or just want a nice, heavy copy, you can take the PDF on a disc or something to a Kinko's type place and they should be able to print it for you. You will notice that, before folding, the month pictures DO NOT match up with the calendars below them. They are not supposed to. It was done this way to be made into a foldable calendar.

SPECIAL STATEMENT (EDIT TO ADD FOLLOW-UP)

We don't normally allow this subject to be addressed at SizemoreFan, as we want to focus on Grady the baseball player. But, the special circumstances that have arisen in the past 24 hours have made us feel compelled to say something. We know it to be a fact that the private photos that were leaked to the internet on Saturday were NOT sent out to anyone by Grady's girlfriend. She was not the one that leaked them, regardless what multiple web sites say. The photos were not intended for anyone else's eyes, and they were stolen from Miss Binger's personal e-mail.

We will not discuss this matter any further on this site or forum, end of story.

EDIT: (11:50 pm 11/29/09) As a follow-up to this statement, and to further spread the truth, we are now posting a letter sent to deadspin from the MLB in regards to these photos, as well as a statement given by Grady tonight to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"These pictures were stolen illegally from my girlfriend's email," Sizemore told The Plain Dealer on Sunday night. "It's now a legal matter that is under investigation. I can't say anything more." MLB and the players association are said to be investigating the matter on Sizemore's behalf.

Sizemore said the pictures were meant for his girlfriend only.

So maybe now the malicious rumors and accusations against Miss Binger will stop. We at SF.com would love to help with this investigation in any way, so we ask that if any of you have any real information that will lead to the exposure of this sick person, please feel free to e-mail us with the info, and we will pass it on to the appropriate parties.

SURGERY WILL END SIZEMORE'S SEASON  

Friday afternoon the Indians announced that Grady will miss the remainder of the season because of soreness in his left elbow that will require arthroscopic surgery.He will also undergo lower abdominal surgery a week after the elbow operation. Sizemore said it's the same groin injury that forced him out of the World Baseball Classic in March. He has played with the injury all season.

Sizemore expects to be fully recovered when he reports to spring training in February.

"I should be in good shape by the start of camp," he said.

LEFT ELBOW INJURY FORCES SIZEMORE TO DL  

The Indians this morning placed OF Grady Sizemore on the 15-day Disabled List with left elbow synovitis (inflammation.) This is the first trip to the DL in his nearly 5-year major league career.

We here at Sizemore fan wish Grady a speedy and successful recovery from his elbow problems. Here's hoping surgery can be avoided and the rest leads to a full recovery. As Tribe baseball just isn't the same without our Superman.
